Newry student Gary ‘turns up the heat’ with impressive win

Gary KnightGary Knight, a 19 year old plumbing and heating apprentice at Southern Regional College, has won the NI Regional Heat of the HIP UK Heating Apprentice of the Year 2017 competition.  
  It was held recently at Belfast Met’s Millfield Campus. Launched in 2009, the HIP UK Heating Apprentice of the Year competition gives students the chance for their hard work to be recognised by putting their skills to the test.

Go For It March 2017It is run by HIP Magazine and provides a great opportunity for lecturers, employers, industry leaders and manufacturers to get involved and support the next generation of installers.

March 2017Gary, from Altmackin, Newry, will now go on to compete in the grand final which will be held at the ADEY Professional Heating Solutions’ Training and Conference Centre. It takes place in Cheltenham from 29th – 30th March 2017.
