In addition to this financial support, the athletes, along with their parents, coaches and sports body representatives, were invited along to the Trust’s Athlete Academy where they heard from industry experts who advised on how the athletes can best manage the non-sporting elements of their careers. The Athlete’s Academy takes place bi-annually and the focus of this event was managing a professional online presence with guest speakers including Carly Rodgers, Digital Communications Manager at George Best Belfast City Airport and Pete Hanlon, Head of Creative at Flint Studios.
