Newry supports World Autism Day

SDLP Assembly candidate for Newry and Armagh Karen McKevitt has expressed her immense pride as the people of Newry and Armagh showed their incredible support for autism awareness on 2nd April, known as World Autism Day. autism3Speaking to Newry Times, McKevitt said, “It was definitely a blue weekend in Newry as crowds of people celebrated World Autism Day. “Not only was our Town Hall lit up for the occasion but a sea of people in blue released balloons and participated in a run/walk along the Towpath, all in an effort to raise awareness of autism. “It was my pleasure to attend the Autism Families Big Breakfast in the Brass Monkey along with my party colleagues, Dominic Bradley and Justin McNulty. “I am heartened by the generosity of spirit shown by the people of Newry to charities such as Autism Families, Autism NI and H.A.N.D. all of who are working to make a positive difference to people with autism.
