Excitement is building for Countryfest 2016, with many people from Newry & Mourne expected to make the journey to the expansive grounds of Inniskeen’s Pairc Grattan in south Monaghan.
2015 saw a sell-out festival and Countryfest 2016 is showing all the right signs of being even bigger and better after organisers extended the number of number of acts performing this year.
All the big names are back on the bill such as Nathan Carter, Mike Denver, Johnny Brady, Declan Nerney and many more.
Countryfest is a volunteer organisation set up 5 years ago to raise funds for the Local GAA club Inniskeen Grattan’s and other community groups.
The Grattan’s are one of the oldest Clubs in Ireland, having been established in 1883 before the GAA was even set up, and the festival takes places on the grounds of their impressive GAA stadium, which stands proudly in South Monaghan.
For those wishing to treat themselves, there is great accommodation packages available in the nearby impressive Nuremore Hotel and Country Club. Here you can be pampered, wined and dined before being transported direct to Countryfest.
Bring your dancing shoes with you as you will need them at what is widely regarded as one of the top festivals in the Country Music calendar.
