SDLP Vice-Chair of Newry, Mourne & Down Council, Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick has called on officers to organise a celebration and recognition event for Gavin Gribben (Mayobridge – Solo singing winner), the St Patrick’s Cullyhanna Leirui team and Silverbridge GAA Céilí Dance Team after their successful triumph in Killarney at the weekend in the Scór na nÓg finals. scor_logoThe Mayobridge Councillor said, “This is news worth celebrating. We have a wealth of talent in our area and their hard work and dedication has paid off on the national stage. “These individuals and teams represent our district to the highest standard and I believe that when residents achieve national accolades it is important that their council recognises them. I have therefore asked officers to organise an event to recognise these competitors and for council to congratulate them in their national achievement. “Other teams from across County Down & Armagh took part too, Ballyholland Set Dancers, Warrenpoint and Silverbridge Quiz teams and I want to congratulate all those that participated and represented our area to the highest standard. I look forward to a recognition event being organised quickly,” she added.
