The event was opened by last year’s winner Leah Kirwin (Carlingford) who appeared on the Late Late Toy Show with her younger brother earlier this month. From almost 80 entries, ten finalists were selected from Hilltown, Armagh, Newry, Strangford and Portadown. They performed for a large audience highlighting dance and singing talents, with some contestants as young as 9. 17 year old Emma Timlin from Tullysaran was crowned cream of the crop by the judging panel (Dominic Wadsworth Abbey Grammar, Peter Murray, Centre Manager, local musician Mickey Murphy and Newry Musical Society Rep Jennifer Malone). The teen is studying music in St Catherine’s Armagh and is a member of National Stage School.
