McAteer welcomes £3.7m Buttercrane investment
Independent Newry City Councillor Kevin McAteer has welcomed the recent news of a £3.7m investment at the Buttercrane Shopping Centre in Newry. Buttercrane Shopping Centre announced last week that it had secured seven new brands and some £3.7m investment in new shop fit and expansion, resulting in the creation of 120 new jobs. Speaking to Newry Times, McAteer stated, “It’s always great news to hear of a jobs boost in the city and it’s great to see some investment in one of our local shopping centres. “In addition to the opening of seven new shops it is great to see five current stores relocating to bigger premises. He added, “All this has shown that there is a demand for retail stores in the Newry area and that shopping centres such as the Buttercrane are able to meet that demand.” More on this story: 120 new jobs and £3.7m investment for Buttercrane, Newry
