Secure your sheds from burglars, urges Newry PSNI
Police in Newry and Mourne are reminding householders to take steps to make their shed secure.
Crime Prevention Officer, Lisa Sherman, explained, “We know that homeowners are security conscious about their homes but sheds and outbuildings are often forgotten about. I am asking all property owners to take a few steps to protect your property.
“Make access to rear of your property as difficult as possible and use external security lighting to deter burglars. Visibly mark the contents in your shed, take notes of serial numbers and photograph expensive equipment.
Lisa added, “Use strong shed bars and closed shackle padlocks to secure your building and secure windows with locks and grilles. Anyone who would like further advice can contact their crime prevention officer on 101.”
