The Sinn Féin MLA made the comments after a recent meeting with Roads Service to discuss the concerns of residents.

“I and my colleague councillor Liz Kimmins requested this meeting with Roads Service after a number of residents brought their concerns to us about motorists speeding past and near the school,” she said.

“We had a very constructive meeting and Roads Service has now agreed to erect three new triangle ‘School’ signs as well as new ‘School Ahead’ markings on the road. They will install a cable counter to check traffic volume and speed later in the year.

Fearon added, “We’re delighted to have been able to assist residents in this and would encourage anyone else with similar concerns to get in touch with their local Sinn Féin councillor.”
