Ritchie welcomes recall of EFRA Committee

Following her request to the Chair of the EFRA Committee to recall the committee before recess, in response to the growing crisis in dairy farming , Margaret Ritchie MP has received confirmation that the Committee Chair has now directed that the Committee be recalled. Margaret RitchieSpeaking after receiving this confirmation the EFRA Committee member and MP for South Down said, “The recall of the EFRA Committee is important as we must take every step possible to ensure that the current crisis faced by our dairy industry is recognised and accepted at all levels of Government. “The committee recall follows my discussions with Minister Eustice yesterday. “I look forward to the meeting of the EFRA Committee; a cross party Westminster Committee, and the further gathering of support at all levels of government to pursue meaningful ways to resolve this situation and bring about long-term stability for the dairy industry and our agri-food economy in Northern Ireland,” she added.
