Man snatched woman’s handbag in Newry as she reversed car
Police in Newry are appealing for information after a handbag was stolen from a car in Corn Market on Friday, 4th July.
At around 8pm a female driver was reversing her silver Opel Meriva car out of a space in Dunnes car park when a man approached the passenger side, opened the door and made off with her black Guess handbag.
The man got into a dark coloured, southern registered, saloon car which sped off in the direction of Francis Street.
The man is described as being around 6ft tall, in his late 20s with short dark hair. He was wearing dark clothing.
Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Rory Warnock said, “A passerby approached the female motorist after the incident to say he had witnessed the theft. We would like to hear from this man or anyone who has information which could assist our investigation. We can be contacted in Newry on 101, quoting ref: 1178 04/07/15.”
