Sinn Fein South Down MLA Caitríona Ruane has passed on requests from local residents for traffic calming measures on Newtown Road in Rostrevor and the Rostrevor Road in Hilltown to Transport NI. ruane34Ruane said, “Following representations from very concerned local residents about the serious dangers caused by speeding along the Newtown Road, particularly around its junction with Pinewood, and a similar problem in Hilltown, I arranged meetings with Transport NI to discuss the implementation of speed calming measures in both cases. She added, “Following very productive meetings Transport NI will be in touch with me soon to inform me of the measures they will be taking to alleviate the problem in both locations.”
