Two arrests in Bessbrook after ‘machete and beer bottle disturbance’

Police in South Armagh have arrested two people following a disturbance in the Orior Park area of Bessbrook. psni7On Monday, 15th June, 2015 at around 6.45pm, an altercation took place between a group of people. It is alleged a machete and beer bottle were used. A 41 year old woman and 41 year old man were arrested for common assault, possession of an offensive weapon and attempted GBH. They were later released on bail pending further enquiries. Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Michael Finucane said, “We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has information that may assist our investigation. We can be contacted in Newtownhamilton on 101, quoting ref: 1142 150615.”
