Newry to host celebration of NI top sports stars

Everyone is invited to Newry Sports Centre on Wednesday 25th March to join in this years ‘Celebration of Sport’.

Last year’s celebration of sport, coming to Newry this Wednesday

The event will be hosted by the Minister of Culture, Arts & Leisure, Carál Ní Chuilín MLA along with top sports people from across the north of Ireland including The Clones Cyclone, former World Boxing Association Featherweight Champion, Barry McGuigan MBE.

Last year’s event was a huge success so excitement is building now for the Newry event

This will be a fun evening for all ages and abilities to enjoy and try new sports including cycling, in-line hockey, golf, gymnastics, archery, soccer, rugby, handball, camogie, basketball, and high wire adventure ropes. There will also be demonstrations and performances throughout the evening by local sports clubs including karate and trampoline. The evening of celebration at Newry Sports Centre is free of charge and open to everyone to attend between 6pm-8.30pm. Persons under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
