Paul and Clare Vallely, managers of Newry based company The Rug House, travelled to the world’s leading trade fair for carpets and floor coverings in Germany last week to help bring fresh ideas and products to their thriving business.

DOMETEX 2015 was held in Deutsche Messe, a massive arena which holds 466,100 square meters of covered indoor space, making it the largest Exhibition Centre in the world. Over 40,000 visitors travelled from across the globe to attend the four day event. The sibling managers jetted off to Hannover with their Chief Marketing Officer, Stephen McElrone, on January 16th. After taking time to settle in and revise over their plans they made the trip to Deutsche Messe. Clare Vallely feels that the company will certainly benefit from the trip in the coming months. She explained to Newry Times, “Me and Paul were both raised on the markets, we have gained so much through experience, but never have we witnessed anything like we did at DOMOTEX 2015. “It was just phenomenal, so many beautiful floor coverings on show. In the rug selling industry it’s essential that you view the products up front to get a good clear idea of what’s on offer out there.”

The Rug House was first launched as an online business in 2009 and a year later the Vallely’s employed their first ever member of staff. The siblings now have a major store on the Carnbane Industrial Estate, employ over 24 members of staff and are constantly offering fresh opportunities as their project continues to expand. Clare explained that the only way to keep the momentum going is to ensure that The Rug House is holding the highest quality products and the largest range of options. “We have had nothing but positive reviews in recent times, particularly since we opened our new store in Newry. She added, “We like to keep the local people pleased, and the best way to do that is to provide the best rugs available. That’s what these trips help us achieve.” Click HERE to visit The Rug House website.
