Newry police investigate approach to two young girls

Police in Newry are investigating an incident at Violet Hill Avenue. It was reported to police that at around 7pm on Thursday 26th February, two young girls were approached by two men who were travelling in a silver coloured BMW car. According to the police, the two girls were ‘given flowers by the men to give to their mother’. The girls made off and reported the incident. Constable Coombs stated, “We are keen to speak with the occupants of this vehicle or anyone who may have noticed a silver BMW being driven in the area at this time. “Anyone with information should contact police in Ardmore on 101 quoting reference number 1014260215. Information can also be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
