Crotlieve Sinn Féin Councillor Mick Murphy has thanked both Transport NI and NI Water for carrying out important flood prevention measures in Greenpark Road and St Rita’s in Rostrevor recently. “I was delighted to see how quickly Transport NI responded to my request to remedy the ponding outside the old convent in Greenpark Road,” Councillor Murphy told Newry Times. “By inserting a pipe across the road into a gulley on the other side, they have averted the build up of water that was causing problems after heavy rain. He added, “I would also like to sincerely thank NI Water for putting in a drainage system in St Rita’s which will prevent the long-term problems with flooding residents have had to endure for years.”
