Armagh Ladies GAA Team honoured at Newry Civic Reception

The Mayor of Newry & Mourne District Council, Councillor Daire Hughes, along with the Mayor of Armagh City & District Council, and the Deputy Mayor of Craigavon Borough Council, hosted a joint Civic Reception in honour of the Armagh Ladies U17 GAA Football Team, All Ireland Team Academy Blitz Champions. Congratulating the team, Mayor Hughes said it was a magnificient achievement and the winning of this prestigious title had raised the profile of Ladies Football not only in Armagh but also throughout Ireland. He said he had no doubt that the present team would go on to even greater glory and hoped that the men of Armagh would emulate their success. The three Councils made a presentation to the Team of a beautiful engraved Tipperary Crystal vase.
