SDLP MLA for Newry and Armagh and party spokesperson on the Irish language, Dominic Bradley, has welcomed the publication of the Irish Language Strategy by the Minister of culture Arts and Leisure. Commenting on the strategy Bradley said, “The SDLP welcomes the publication of the Irish Language Strategy by the Department of Culture Arts and Leisure. “The Irish language community has been waiting eight years for the publication of the strategy and it is hoped that there will be no undue delay in its implementation. He added, “The Minister needs to ensure that an implementation plan is produced forthwith with suitable resources available to make the ensuing actions a reality. I would hope that no Minister will obstruct the implementation of the strategy and that each will approach it in a positive way.”
