Three drugs arrests by Newry police

Police in Newry and Mourne have reported three men to the PPS for drugs offences. Drugs were seized from three men in separate incidents in Cullyhanna, Hilltown and Warrenpoint on Sunday, 14th December. Around 11.40am police stopped a car in the Tullynavall Road area of Cullyhanna. A quantity of suspected cocaine was seized following a search of the car and driver.A 25 year old man was arrested and later released pending report to the PPS. At 9.36pm officers on patrol in Hilltown stopped a 19 year old male in the Sandbank Road area. Police recovered a quantity of herbal cannabis from his person and he was reported to the PPS. Around the same time a 19 year old male was stopped by police in Warrenpoint. Herbal cannabis was recovered and the teenager was reported to the PPS. Anyone with information about the illegal use and supply of drugs can contact police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
