14 year old wins Buttercrane’s Got Talent

The final of Buttercrane’s Got Talent took place this week when eight local singers and musicians took to the stage to battle it out for the top prize of a £500 Buttercrane Voucher.

Downtown Radio hosted the event with their Roadshow team and the acts were put through their paces by the judges. The judges included Dominic Wadsworth, Abbey Grammar Music Teacher, Jennifer Malone of Newry Musical Society, Local musician Mickey Murphy, Peter Murray Centre Manager and Downtown DJ Gary Myles. Contestants applied through the Buttercrane Centre Facebook page with a video post of their talent and over 50 entries were received before eight finalists were chosen by facebook fans. The winner was 14 yr old Leah Kirwin.
Finalists: 1. Kieran McArdle – Rapper – Newry 2. Caci and Jorja (Age 3 & 4) – Singing – Kilkeel 3. Ruairi Richman & partner Ellie – Singing – Newry 4. Joel McCaffrey – Singer/Guitarist – Newry 5. Leah Kirwin – Singer – Dundalk 6. Lauren & Colleen Andrews – Singers – Newry 7. Katherine Dougan – Singer – Newry 8. Brendan Torley – Newry
