SDLP Assembly Member for Newry and Armagh Dominic Bradley MLA has congratulated Newtownhamilton Rural Community Association on the delivery of the new Rural Community Hall. Speaking at the Official Opening on Saturday Mr Bradley said, “I congratulate Newtownhamilton Rural Community Association on the official opening of its new hall. “The hall is a wonderful facility for the local community, both young and old. The committee has exemplified the voluntary principle in the provision of labour and materials from within both sides of the local community. It is refreshing to see that high level of local involvement and commitment to a project. “Funding is difficult to come by at any time, but especially in the current financial climate and this project would not have been possible without the financial support of SOAR through the Rural Development Programme. “I want to place on record my thanks to the staff within that organisation who worked closely with the volunteers in the Community Association throughout this project. He added, “I wish the committee every success with the completed project and look forward to the interesting and varied programme of events the committee has planned.”
