Community, What's On
PANDAS Co. Down and Armagh Support Group is holding a ladies night on Wednesday 5th November from 7-9.30 pm in The Golf Inn, Forkhill Road, Newry. Admission is £5 per person, payable at the door and everyone is welcome. PANDAS (pre and post natal depression advice and support) is a charity which supports families suffering from pre and post natal illness and campaigns to raise awareness and remove the stigma. The newly formed group in the area is headed by Oonagh Kelly who spoke to Newry Times. “Unfortunately pre and post natal illness is still quite a taboo subject but impacts so many. “The new group has been established to reach out to women especially and make them realise that they aren’t alone and support is available; and this ladies night is just one way of beginning to raise awareness. We look forward to welcoming everyone.” The ladies night is your opportunity to take some time out to relax, and why not bring along some friends too? Why not try a new treatment or therapy or treat yourself to that little something special. Some of the participants attending include Angel A Crafts, Try the Alternative, Park Lane Crafts, Curves Newry, Airmid Therapies, Tivoli Jewellery and Mili Fiori, Camlough to name but a few. There will be a raffle and refreshments will also be available. For further information on the event or the group, please see Facebook -PANDAS Support Group County Down and Armagh or contact the helpline 0843 2898401, open daily 9-8pm or visit www.pandasfoundation.org.uk
