Police in Newry are appealing for information after a report of burglary at a house in the Lisgarvagh area in the early hours of Saturday 20th September. Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Arbuthnot said, “At around 2:35am, it was reported that a silver Vauxhall car with a tow bar was driving in the area with three men on board. “One man is believed to have got out of the car and climbed into a garden in the area. It is believed that entry was gained to a house in the area and a handbag was stolen during the incident. “The car then made off in an unknown direction and the handbag was later found at the Sturgan Brae, Camlough area a short time later. Enquiries are continuing. He added, “Officers in Newtownhamilton Police Station can be contacted on the 101 non-emergency number and anyone with any information should quote reference 362200914. “If you prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
