Police in Newry and Banbridge are appealing for information after two incidents of theft.

On Friday morning, 14th March, a 74 year old woman was shopping in supermarket premises in The Quays, Newry, when she was approached by a young, foreign male who engaged her in covsersation.

The female later discovered her purse had been taken from her bag. The purse contained a bank card and an attempt was made to use the card later in the morning in the Banbridge area.

Later in the morning, a 91 year old woman was shopping in a supermarket on Castlewellan Road, Banbridge, when she was distracted by a male. It is believed a female may have taken the lady’s purse from her handbag in the trolley.
