Rogers lends support to the Alzheimer’s Society
South Down Assembly Member Seán Rogers has joined with colleagues in Parliament Buildings to support the Alzheimer’s Society’s bid to promote dementia friendly communities.
The South Down MLA, who praised the good work of the Society said, “Through developing a better understanding of dementia and its effects on everyday life we all have the ability to make our local community more dementia friendly.
“The Alzheimer’s society has developed many interesting case studies where dementia friendly communities are already working. These include working with local banks, chemist shops and churches”.
The South Down MLA added, “I want to congratulate all those involved in this very practical and yet very powerful initiative that could see day to day life for people with dementia made a little easier. I would also encourage all shops, groups and organisations that feel they could contribute to this visionary project to engage with the society.”
