Police have recovered a quantity of suspected drugs following the search of licensed premises in Warrenpoint.

On Saturday night, 8th February, police conducted a search at premises on The Square.

Officers seized five packages of white powder. These are suspected to be cocaine or mephedrone and have been sent for forensic examination.

Inspector Andy McGowan, South Down Neighbourhood Policing Team, said, “We are committed to ensuring that South Down is a safe place for everyone to live, work and visit and removing drugs from circulation in the community is just one part of this.

McGowan added, “We will continue to take action on information we receive and recover more drugs and arrest those who continue to use or sell drugs within our community.”
