Clontigora Road resurfacing announced

Newry Sinn Fein member Liz Kimmins has said that proposed resurfacing works on the Clontigora Road will be very much appreciated by local residents following a hard fought campaign.

The Sinn Féin representative said, “The Clontigora Road in Killean has been in dire need of repair for the past ten years and residents have been requesting this for the past decade.

“My predecessor on the Council Packie McDonald has lobbied on behalf of the residents on this matter for many years so this is a great result to his hard work.

“Work is due to begin on Monday 27th January and will last until Friday 7th February 2014. During this time the road will be closed to through traffic from its junction with the B113 Dublin Rd to its junction with the Edentubber Road and diversions will be in place.

Kimmins added, “I hope that local road users will comply with any necessary traffic rerouting measures and have patience while this long awaited work is completed.”
