Man, 38, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following Warrenpoint attack

A 38 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The arrest follows an incident in the Springfield Road area of Warrenpoint at approximately 1.30am on the morning of Friday 10th January where a 48 year old man was assaulted in a house.

The injured man is currently being treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact CID at Ardmore Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
