Over 70 businesses from the Newry area recently attended Danske Bank’s ‘Good to Grow’ breakfast event at the Canal Court Hotel, hosted in partnership with the Newry Chamber of Commerce. Speaking at the event, Danske Bank Chief Economist Angela McGowan said, “With a number of economic indicators showing that we are finally turning the corner in terms of recovery, now is the time for our local companies to start investing in their businesses. “Both business and consumer confidence are now on the up and I would expect this to have a positive impact on economic growth in the months ahead,” she added. Delegates also heard from Danske Bank customer Stephen Philpott, Chief Executive of USPCA, and Head of Danske Bank’s Portadown Finance Centre Mark Watson, who highlighted how Danske Bank is providing practical and dynamic support for local businesses who are ‘good to grow’.
