Free Santa home visits for Newry children

Through the Brain Injury Foundation, which supports brain injury survivors and their carers in Newry, Santa is offering free visits to children under 10 who have disabilities or who are housebound and who live in Newry and Mourne.

Frank Dolaghan, Chair of the Foundation, is one of Santa’s helpers and explained to Newry Times, “Our volunteer, John Hicks, suggested that, as we have received so much public support since we were launched just over a year ago, we should give something back to our community.

“So we are offering free home visits by Santa Claus and some of his elves to children who have disabilities of any kind or who are housebound for any reason. The visits will take place in December.

“To request a visit a parent should text one of Santa’s elves at 07936454573 with brief details of their child and their own mobile number and address and we will be in touch to make the arrangements for the visit.

He added, “Santa may not be able to get around every home as of course December is his busy month but he will do his very best.”

Santa will also be in attendance at the Brain Injury Foundation’s Christmas Fayre in Altnaveigh House on Saturday 7th December and he will be meeting children in Tesco’s on Saturday 21st December for free gifts.”
