Hearty welcomes new road signage

Crossmaglen Sinn Fein councillor Terry Hearty has welcomed news that Roads Service is to provide new road signage at a number of key positions in the town.

“I have been liaising with Roads Service for a number of months now in an effort to get signs erected at a number of dangerous junctions in the town,” he said.

“I’m delighted they have agreed to erect these signs as they will make a real contribution to the safety of motorists and pedestrians in the town.

“With two major schools in Crossmaglen and at this time of year when children are returning to their classrooms, proper road signage is more important than ever to protect young people on the roads,” he insisted.

Hearty added, “Road Service has confirmed that give way signs will be put in place at the following junctions Rathkeeland Park/Blaney Road; Ardross Estate/Blaney Road and Lismore Park/Dundalk Road, along with the appropriate road markings.”
