Police foil Newry burglary

Detectives in Ardmore are appealing for information following a burglary at premises in the Longfield Road area of Carrickaldreen, Newry on Tuesday, 6th August.

At approximately 2.30pm police received reports that males were stealing copper from outbuildings.

One 21 year old man appeared in Newry Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 7th August charged with burglary with intent to steal and going equipped for theft. A 37 year old man also arrested in relation to this incident was released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact them at Ardmore on 0845 600 8000.
