Police charge man with litany of driving offences

Police in Kilkeel have charged a man with a number of offences after stopping a stolen car.

The man was arrested after police stopped a car in the Kilkeel area on Wednesday night, 31st July following a report of suspicious activity.

The man was subsequently charged with handling property stolen in the Republic of Ireland, driving whilst disqualified, possession of articles for use in fraud and driving with no insurance.

He will appear before Banbridge Magistrates’ Court on 1 August, 2013. As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

A 39 year old female, arrested in connection with the same incident, was later released unconditionally.
