One of Northern Ireland’s leading retail initiatives, ‘Newry Style City’ is back for a 3rd season in 2013 with a full schedule of exciting shows and fashion events taking place across the city from the 18th to 21st April.

‘Fashionistas’ and trend setters can look forward to a long weekend of fashion, style and glamour during what has become one of the most important dates in the retailing calendar in Newry.

This year Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade in association with Newry & Mourne District Council and Buttercrane Shopping Centre hopes that Newry Style City 2013 will be even better than previous years.

Celebrating Spring/Summer 2013’s key trends including monochrome and Mi Moneda, the programme includes four days of events with something for everyone.

The event will see the return of the Newry Style Awards in the Bank Bar as well as new trendy events, Southern Regional College Style Secrets as well as many glamorous and fashionable events in venues right across the city and beyond throughout the weekend.

Newry Style City 2013 launch party will take place on Wednesday 27th March from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at the Bank Bar and Restaurant in Newry.

All retailers, service providers, the hospitality sector and those who wish to get a flavour of the schedule of events as well as those that may be interested in organising their own event are invited to come along.

Colleen Dowdall, Acting Chief Executive Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade said, “As part of the Newry Style City committee we are absolutely delighted to once again bring this fantastic event to our city.

“For the last two years Newry Style City has had amazing support from retailers and businesses across the region and we hope that will continue this year.

“Our programme will include the return of Style City favourites including the Style Awards and Diamonds & Daiquiris in Jack Murphy Jewellers and fashion events in the  Buttercrane Shopping Centre.

“We also have some new exciting events with Southern Regional College offering a full day of events for the public, students and retailers, an exciting fashion afternoon tea and a fashion night from Newry Bosco.

Colleen added, “Newry Style City 2013 will showcase some of the top-class fashion, hair and beauty outlets we have in our city and we hope will offer a spring boost to our retail, hospitality and service sectors.”

“We would encourage anyone who is interested in contributing in any way to come along to the launch party on 27th March to find out all of the details or to put forward ideas for the programme.”
