Roads Service carry out Mullaghbawn drainage and footpath works

Slieve Gullion area Sinn Féin Councillor Anthony Flynn has commended Roads Service for their response to concerns raised by himself and the local community in relation to flooding in the vicinity of Moyry Castle and footpath facilities at Conway Park, Mullaghbawn.

Speaking to Newry Times, Councillor Flynn said, “There has been drainage works carried out at Moyry Castle and this seems to have alleviated the flooding problem which many local people had worries about.

“Roads Service also has completed their work on the footpath at Conway Park Mullaghbawn and they are to be commended for their response to requests for this action.”

The Sinn Féin elected representative concluded by welcoming the news that the second phase of the Housing Development on what was previously the Forkhill Military Barracks, will begin in September.
