Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following a shooting incident in the Cherry Grove area of Cullyhanna yesterday evening, Tuesday 19th February.

Just after 11pm, police received reports that several shots were fired near a house in the area. No-one was injured in the incident and no damage is believed to have been caused to the house.

A dark coloured Volkswagen Golf was later found alight in the Slatequarry Road area and police believe that this car could be linked to the shooting incident.

Anyone with any information about this is asked to contact CID in Ardmore Police Station on 0845 600 8000.

Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
