Police charge man with parochial house burglary

Police in Newry have arrested and charged a 28 year old man with burglary.

The men made off in the direction of Drumalane Road

The man was arrested in the Newry area on 28th January and will appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on 20th February.

The charge relates to a burglary at a parochial house on the Dublin Road on 3rd November 2012.

On the day in question, at around 5.15pm two males entered the premises and took two 32 inch flat screen televisions and a DVD player.

The two males made off with the items across the main Dublin Road and through the Drumalane Church car park in the direction of Drumalane Road.

It is believed the males were wearing hoodies and tracksuit bottoms.

As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
