Fearon said, “The rules of the EU commission are that every new map must state the Maximum Eligible Area on which the Single Farm Payment (SFP) for 2013 will be based. “The Agriculture Department are currently in the process of issuing every farmer with a map, however, it is the duty of the farmer to make sure that their map is correct. “Farmers must examine their maps carefully and report any amendments to the department as soon as possible to avoid the loss of the SFP. Fearon added, “Advice is available from the Agriculture Department on how to check the new maps in case farmers have any difficulties.”
