Councillor Peter Kearney has commended the Roads Service on recently completing works on the Greenan Road in Newry.

Speaking to Newry Times, the Sinn Fein representative said, “A number of residents had contacted me before Christmas with concerns over the poor state of the Greenan Road.

“Motorists in the area who frequently use the road felt it was in need of urgent repair as it was becoming dangerous to drive on and also it was liable to cause damage to cars.”

“A request was put in with the Roads Service in December, who promptly had work commenced to resurface the area, which was recently completed much to the delight of local residents and motorists who frequently use the road.

He added, “I would like to thank the Roads Service for a prompt and efficient response to residents concerns.”
