Two arrested after discovery of cannabis factory

Police in Newry have arrested two people following the seizure of cannabis plants from a house in Ashgrove Park.
At around 11.40pm on Tuesday, 25th December, police received a report of a male causing a disturbance. Officers attended the property and, during their enquiries, uncovered a cannabis factory.
A quantity of cannabis plants, equipment, cash and over 17,000 cigarettes were seized.
A 32 year old male and 28 year old female were arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis, possession of Class B drugs and possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply.
Both were later released on bail pending further enquiries.
