Police launch investigation into Newry car damage incidents

Police in Newry are appealing for information after two cars were damaged during the early hours of Friday morning, 23rd November.

At 3.40am police received a report of a silver Volkswagen Polo on fire in a car park in the New Street area and fire engines were called to the scene and extinguished the fire.

At 3.55am it was reported that the windows of a blue Renault MPV car, parked in Basin Walk, were smashed.

Police are keen to speak to a male who was in the area of Basin Walk around this time on Friday morning, 23rd November. He is described as being 6ft tall, of medium build and was wearing a blue jacket with white stripes.

Police are asking this male or anyone who witnessed the cars being damaged to contact them at Ardmore Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
