After attending the Shelagh youth club town lands project on Wednesday night Sinn Féin councillor Terry Hearty extended his sincere thanks and congratulations to the club on an excellent project. Speaking to Newry Times, Hearty said, “I was delighted to be invited to the launch of this interesting and worthwhile project on town lands. The work and effort that the children put into the project was unbelievable. “On the night each young person gave the history of their town land including how it got its name. Not only did the children clearly enjoy the project but the information they had researched was incredibly interesting.” He added, “You can safely say the knowledge and history of our town lands are secure for another generation. Well done to Shelagh youth club management and of course the young people who took part in this project and made it successful.”
