Towpath Walk in aid of local Samaritans

On 4th October a walk along the canal towpath from Jerrettspass to Newry will take place to raise some much needed funding for the local branch of the Samaritans.

It has been arranged by pupils from the local schools who are using it to arrange sponsorship to help fund the work of Samaritans. It should be a pleasant afternoon’s stroll; it’s only about three miles into Newry and, being alongside the canal, it’s unlikely that there’ll be big mountains to climb. All are welcome to join in.

The walk is due to start at 12.30pm so you could work up a nice appetite for lunch by the time you get to Newry.

Samaritans offer emotional support 24 hours a day, and are always happy to receive your calls, at 028 (048) 302 66366 if you need to talk, or your financial contributions, if you want to help.
