Bridal Lonan to benefit from £150,000 resurfacing improvements

SDLP South Down MLA Karen McKevitt has welcomed the announcement from DRD Roads Service that £150,000 has been secured for the resurfacing of the Bridal Loanan, Warrenpoint.

She also welcomed the consultation on the proposed Pelican crossing on the Upper Dromore Road, designed to address major safety issues for pupils attending the three local schools in the area.

Councillor Michael Carr has also welcomed the news for Warrenpoint saying, “Residents have been calling for the Roads Service to address the issue of pot holes on the Bridal Loanan for some time now and I am pleased that after lengthy wait the Roads Service have confirmed that the work will begin next week.”

Carr added, “The proposal for the pelican crossing needs to be discussed in detail with local residents, students and school officials to ensure the best and safest solution is provided.”
