Police appeal for information following double assault

Police in Newry are appealing for information following two assaults in the Merchants Quay area. The police have received a report of a 33 year old man being assaulted by a male at around 10pm on Saturday, 18th of August, in a car park. The man reported having been assaulted a second time at 1.20am on Sunday, 19 August, on Monaghan Street, and during the second assault  has sustained a laceration to his nose. Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed either assault to contact them at Ardmore Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
