Southern Trust choristers hit high note
Members of the Southern Health and Social Care Trust Choir recently performed at the international Arts Care Conference which attracted delegates from Australia, USA, Finland, Great Britain and Ireland. The members sang three pieces – Marie’s Wedding, Will You Go Lassie Go and I Believe – under the direction of choir director Dr Catriona Herron who also performed as a solo artist.
Dr Herron is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who is also a professionally- trained soprano. Dr Herron currently works in Child Adolescent Psychiatry in Craigavon whilst continuing to pursue her longstanding interest in music. “I’m delighted that the Southern Trust Arts Care Choir is going from strength to strength. Our aim is to sing, have fun, de-stress and bring song and music to patients. The choir has performed at a number for a wide range of occasions including Adult and Baby Bereavement Services, Christmas Carol Services and Carol Singing, and in Nursing Residential Homes.”
New members are welcome and details of practices are available from Kate Courtenay, email: kate.courtenay@southerntrust.hscni.net
