On 21st March Sinn Féin MLA Mickey Brady participated in the Millennium Volunteers presentation ceremony in the Market Place Theatre, Armagh to celebrate young volunteers from across the North who had completed 200 hours of voluntary service. Speaking after the event Mr Brady said, “I was delighted to be invited to this event to present certificates of achievement along with my party colleague and Education Minister John O’Dowd. I listened with interest to the many stories from these young people of the positive impact they had made on their communities over the period of their volunteer activity. The benefits to the community organisations in which these volunteers are placed are immeasurable as is the life experience gained through volunteering by these young people.” He added, “I would also like to commend Sean McKevitt from Newry who has for many years worked in the voluntary sector and played an admirable role with young people from throughout this community.”
