Police in Newry are warning motorists of major traffic disruption on Sunday 18th March as the Down v Dublin National Football League match takes place at Pairc Esler.

Up to 16,000 spectators are expected at the game and delays are anticipated throughout the city but particularly in the areas of William Street, Warrenpoint Road and the A2. Large numbers of pedestrians are also expected in these areas.

Motorists should take alternative routes, avoiding the Warrenpoint side of Newry, if possible. If motorists are travelling through the affected areas they should reduce their speed and drive with extreme caution.
The disruption is expected to last from 12 noon to 5.30pm approximately.
