Newry Drama Festival marked it’s 60th year last week with a reception at Stormont, organised by local MLA Karen McKevitt. The organisation also spoke about the upcoming Diamond Jubilee Festival in March.

Chairman for Newry Drama Festival Gerry McNulty said, “A Diamond Jubilee celebration for a voluntary organisation is a solemn, yet wonderful, occasion as it bears witness not only to the longevity of the event but also highlights good management of its resources and steadfast input by its many members, supporters and sponsors down through the years.”

He continued, “Furthermore, with such a rich history, today’s Reception in this iconic building, demonstrates the Festival’s maturity and self-confidence in its achievements. The Festival’s deep gratitude must be expressed to our main and major sponsors : The Quays, Newry The N.I. Arts Council, Newry & Mourne District Council, Newry Credit Union, Clanrye Abbey Developments”
